“You have questions,” he said and raised his bow. His tone was cool; he did not turn around.

Fanciful, Watson.
I may have crossed into the land of poets and madmen; I should use their language.

Preview: John’s grown up with the stories about Holmeswood Manor. They are certainly not going to keep him from interviewing for a residential post there because he cannot afford London on an army pension and there could not possibly be any truth to the tales.

Excerpt: ...I strained to find the source of the voice in the dim recesses of the library...A movement at the edge of the shadows caught my eye. A tall figure glided into the moonlight, his face as pale as it, his form merging with the darkness on one side, outlined by firelight on the other. A long-fingered hand appeared and then another. The figure approached, gloves in hand, his features growing clearer as the light of the laboratory enveloped him, revealing the fine contours of his face and the cool gleam of his eyes.

Titolo: One Month of Silence
Autore: johnlockhell
Fandom: Sherlock (BBC)
Rating: Giallo (PG)
Personaggi: Sherlock Holmes, John Watson, Mary Morstan, Greg Lestrade.
Parole: Capitolo 1 - 3800 parole circa, capitolo 2 - 3500 parole circa, capitolo 3 - 4500 parole circa.

Title: A Sense of Scale
Rating: T for vague allusions to past abuse.
Pairing: Sherlock/John, unrequited; John/Mary, background
Summary: Sherlock was broken. He couldn’t remember when or how or why it became so – as a child, he’d been much less precise in his deletions, and the answers to these questions were as irretrievable to him as the time he learned that the earth went ‘round the sun. He had never tried to hide it or deny it – truth and facts, after all, were what he lived for.
Warnings: Vague allusions to past abuse. Sad.
A/N: This fic has been tormenting me and has been stuck in the “I want to be written but I don’t want to solidify” realm for YEARS. AT LAST I HAVE PURGED IT.
As usual, many thanks to rougewinter for being my lovely beta, and thank you also aeria_cretin for coming up with a title (because I am hopeless). Title taken from this poem.
Dedicated to: My baby cousin. Not so baby anymore, really. We’re not as close as we used to be, but she’ll always be my favourite baby cousin, and I wish she never had to go through what she did. One day maybe I’ll have the courage to show this to her, and to give her the hug and the kiss I never gave her.
